Emoji 2.0

Emoji version 2.0 was a major update to the emoji standard that was released by the Unicode Consortium in 2015. It included additional emoji and made some changes to existing ones.

Version 2.0 added a total of 250 new emoji, including new faces, animals, foods, sports, and other symbols. Some of the notable new emoji in this version included the unicorn, the middle finger, and the taco.

In addition to adding new emoji, version 2.0 also made changes to some existing emoji to improve their design or to better reflect the diversity of the people who use them. For example, the emoji for people with different skin tones were expanded to include a wider range of shades, and the emoji for couples were made gender-neutral.

The current version of the emoji standard is Unicode 15.0, which was released in 2022-09-13 and includes over 3,644 emoji.
